Travis can be a little devil and he can also be a total angel. In just 3 days here and 2 more days spent at the vet's office this little 7 month old baby boy has been through a lot...neutering, vaccinations, worming, being in a crate, and having to adhere to two different schedules --- our schedule and then the vet's schedule. He's on Rimadyl now for post-surgical soreness. As I write this he is sleeping like a little angel on the couch. We were told that he became too much for his family to handle when the wife developed heart problems and finally put him in the yard. I've noticed that he's almost afraid to go outside because he thinks he's going to be tricked into being locked outside of the house. But this boy is really sharp and learns fast. Watching all the dogs go outside helps him to learn that going outside is fine. He reacts the same way when it comes to going into a crate which suggests that perhaps he was crated more than he should have been and not just part of a daily schedule that included people time, play time, meal time, and crate time. Travis is a fairly assertive dog who loves to be close to his people. The adoption fee for Travis is $250.00.

More about Travis

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids

Special Needs: It's possible that some of Travis' moments of high energy are related to a poor diet that was high in starch and sugars and relatively low in protein. We're feeding him high quality sources of protein mixed into his food bowl to help address this possibility.
