About Lizzie

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Rescue ID: D080029
  • Location: 84036
  • Housetrained: Yes
Lizzie came in to rescue this year when her owner passed away. It is very obvious she was well loved and cared for. She took awhile to adjust to her foster home but is now doing well.
Lizzie is 10 years old (she will be 11 in Dec.). She knows some basic obedience but tries not to let on that she does. Lizzie sometimes plays the part of the "fun police" and tries to keep other dogs in order. When she is playing ball with some of the other dogs, for example, she acts like she doesn't want the ball but doesn't seem to think any other dog should chase the ball either! She likes to be with people, and is very well behaved. Lizzie is good with both children and other pets. Lizzie walks on leashes well, rides well in the car and is now crate trained. If you have not been lucky enough in your life so far to adopt and love a dog in their senior years, this is a golden opportunity. Seniors, like Lizzie, are a sweet, loving, and gentle gift that we're sometimes fortunate enough to have come into our lives for whatever time we're allowed to love them.
You will need to watch Lizzie's weight, she is trim now but came to us at 32 lbs, when she came in. This is a critical part of maintaining her good health and quality of life. She does not need extra weight as she does have a tiny bit of arthritis in her front leg. Lizzie is with Jim and Peggy, you can contact them through the Utah Corgi Rescue:
