Kay Lee came to us as a Sheltie mix. Once she got here we weren't sure if she was a Sheltie mix or not but we did know that she was one very special, wonderful, girl and deserved some help finding her forever home.
Kay Lee's age is unknown but estimated to be around 7 or 8 years of age. She's a bit overweight and we're working on that. Kay Lee was a therapy/companion dog for a woman with several neurological problems. She is not a certified therapy dog but is loving and has a strong sense that she's supposed to help and take care of her person. She's very, very smart. I was breaking up a small dog spat and was putting one of the participants into a crate. I turned around to see Kay Lee straddling the other participant and using her body to restrain her from going after the dog I was crating. She wasn't using her mouth at all. Even with all my experience with dogs I was amazed.
Kay Lee is not perfect (who is?) but she's without a doubt a very special girl.
