We don't yet know why this little boy ended up in the Vernal, Utah shelter.  Whoever gave him up had to have a tearful time doing so because Wysiwyg is not just very, very  cute but he's also a really good boy who just wants to sit by my feet and be wherever I am, cuddle and be lovey.  He is a total package! Not only is Wysiwyg a cuddler but he's so good and obviously so used to being a family boy that he's very easy to integrate into a household.

We've already had a senior wellness exam done on him which is a complete blood panel, plus urine analysis, plus thyroid test.  His white blood cell count is running high.  This may be due to his teeth, which need a dental, or it may be due to being exposed to something like kennel cough while in the shelter.  He's currently on antibiotics.  His thyroid levels tested low.  We're double checking them to make sure this is a true reading before we put him on thyroid medication.

Low thyroid is a common problem in Shelties.  It's treated the same way it is in humans - with daily medication.  In the case of dogs, the medication is a cheap generic pill.  You'll have no problem giving medication to Wysiwyg because he is SUCH a sweetheart and just wants to do what his Mommy or Daddy wants him to.

Wysiwyg is an acronym that stands for What You See Is What You Get.  If you look at Wysiwyg and see an adorable, loving, companion - you're seeing him perfectly and that's what you'll get if you're the lucky person to adopt him.

We've also done a heartworm test on Wysiwyg which was negative.  We're waiting for final results on the thyroid test and then we'll think about scheduling his dental.

In the meantime, Wysiwyg is great to have here or in foster care because he's such a sweetie.

If you're interested in adopting or fostering Wysiwyg please go to http://www.SheltieRescueUT.org and fill out an Application for Adoption.  You can also call Barbara at 801-942-4762 for more information. The adoption fee for this cuddly, happy boy - who is now neutered and has had a dental - is $250.00
