Lucky was turned over by his owner when she found herself incapacitated after a car accident.  Lucky spent most of his time with her including going on lots of errands in the car.  At the first sight of a leash, Lucky is ready to go ---either for a walk or for a ride.  Just remember that dogs can't tolerate the heat that humans can and being in the car during the summer is not good unless you're there with him with the airconditioning on.

Lucky has a wonderful personality...very outgoing and friendly to both people and other dogs.  For a 7 year old he has more energy than I'd normally expect to see.  He's in good health and in good shape.  He's an ebullient and happy Sheltie-boy with enthusiasm for almost anything.  He's also a very good boy and minds me pretty well.  His past training was well done and he was clearly very well loved.

Lucky does have one birth defect that, at the time (during the first year or so of his life), was not correctable.  His rear left foot turns outward.  It doesn't appear to affect his ability to play or enjoy life.  Every now and then you might see this foot slip out from under him.  In the future, as Lucky ages, it''s likely that this leg will have some arthritis.  The care he'll need may be minimal or he may find stairs painful.

The adoption fee for Lucky is $250.00 although there's no doubt in my mind he's worth so much more.  He's a wonderful companion and very loving.  Somebody's going to get a great friend in him.  For more information and to fill out our Application for Adoption please go to www.SheltieRescueUT.org.  You can also call us at 801-942-4762.
