Tabitha is a somewhat reserved but very loving and sweet Sheltie-girl who is 2 years and 9 months old. Her family bred her and then kept one of her puppies while dropping her off at a kill shelter nearby. Luckily some wonderful people alerted us that Tabitha was in danger at a shelter nearby and we called and arranged to pick her up asap. Tabitha expects to be yelled at. Her family turned her in saying that they couldn't house train her. When we had her checked out she had a urinary tract infection which probably made it much harder for her to hold it when needed. The yelling just compounded her confusion and being thrown outside made her feel bad. Now Tabitha is getting into playing with the other dogs here and her number one favorite activity is sitting on the couch cuddled up with someone who loves her. Tabitha is a very small sized Sheltie girl weighing in at about 15lbs whose coat is in terrible shape. We're not sure if that's due to poor nutrition, poor nutritional support during her pregnancy and feeding her puppies or if she just dropped all of her coat after giving birth, if they clipped her hair short or if she's just going to have a fitted Sheltie-coat. In the very short time she's been here we've already seen some growth of her coat which makes me think nutrition has played some role in the poor state of her coat. Tabitha in every way is a very healthy Sheltie-girl who is going to be a wonderfully loyal and loving companion to someone and a great playmate for two-legged and four-legged family members.
Tabitha has been spayed, wormed, vaccinated, heartworm tested, and will also be microchipped before being adopted. Tabitha's adoption fee is $325.00. Photos will be posted soon!
